E/kids provides care and teaching for children ages six weeks through fifth grade. We also host special events and partner with other Engedi ministries to reach young children and families in the Holland community and beyond.

If you’re bringing your children to Engedi for the first time, we’ve got plenty of information about our guest arrival and registration process.

Through music and teaching (and a whole lot of fun), e/kids is dedicated to partnering with parents in helping your kids learn what it means to know, love and serve Jesus. It is our prayer that God will enable you to provide a loving Christian home for your children and that He will give us the wisdom to complement your efforts with a biblically based children’s ministry.

Sunday Morning Environments

Nursery

The e/kids nursery welcomes children ages six weeks to 13 months. It is a nurturing and caring environment where volunteers share God’s love with e/kids’ littlest ones.

Seedlings

Seedlings is our class for kids ages 13 months–age 3. In this class, children are given a first look at who God is through stories, songs, games and play. All activities are age-appropriate and flexible, which suits the personality of these fun, active toddlers quite well!

Preschool

Our preschool ministry is divided into 3 age-specific learning environments:

  • Sprouts: 3-year-olds
  • Saplings: 4s and 5s
  • Kinders: Children currently in kindergarten

We strive for kids to leave the early childhood ministry knowing, with confidence, that “God loves me, God made me and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.” Every month we focus on one of these three basic truths. Each week your children will learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach the one key truth for the month.

Elementary

The elementary program serves students in grades 1–5. When kids graduate from our early childhood program into elementary, they also transition into corporate worship. Children begin their morning with their families in the gathering. We believe that this helps children to see that they are a vital part of the larger Engedi community, as well as encouraging the church family to embrace kids and consider their role in shepherding them. Following worship, kids have the opportunity to attend a classroom experience of their own. Our elementary program consists of two classrooms: 1st–3rd grades and 4th and 5th grades.

Each month kids are introduced to a key virtue and memory verse that are built around three basics truths that every child should embrace, according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52:

  • WISDOM: I need to make the wise choice.
  • FAITH: I can trust God no matter what.
  • FRIENDSHIP: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
