As a parent, you are the most influential voice in the life of your child from birth through the teen years. We want to help equip, encourage and support you in your everyday journey with your child. Deuteronomy 6:5–7 says that whether you are eating dinner, in the car going to practice or at bedtime, there are multiple opportunities to share spiritual lessons with your child. We’re here to provide resources to help you maximize those opportunities.

Child Dedication

Your child is a gift, a responsibility and a challenge that requires your dependence on God. In choosing to dedicate your child, you are acknowledging your need for God’s wisdom and guidance in parenting. As a church body, we want to support you as you begin this journey.

Child dedications take place the second Sundays in March and October, as well as on Mother’s Day. Pre-registration is required, along with a brief orientation meeting. Contact e/kids director Jenni for questions.
Register for the next dedication.

God’s Plan for Your Child

Multiple studies show that most children form their opinion of who God is and the role He will play in their lives during the elementary years. Our prayer is that every child will embrace a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by the time he or she leaves the e/kids elementary environment.

John 3:16 is used to present God’s rescue plan. Each month, John 3:16 is included in our teaching so that children know that God is pursuing a relationship with them through Jesus Christ. These lessons can often plant seeds that lead to meaningful conversations at home about what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Are you looking for tools to talk to your child about their spiritual journey?

Learn how to lead your child to Christ

Children can be led to Christ. God made the message simple so that even a child could hear and respond. Take every opportunity to present this wonderful message to your child while his or her heart is eagerly open.

1. Pray.

Pray for your child by name and ask God to prepare him/her to understand and receive the good news.

2. Share the good news.

Use words and phrases that your child will understand:

  • Do you know that the God who made the universe loves you? He loves you so much, He wants you to be His child! God’s Word, the Bible, says, “God is love.” (1 John 4:8)
  • Do you know that you, me and all the other people in the world have done wrong things? Some of those things are: forgetting God, disobeying God and being selfish.
  • In the Bible, the word for doing wrong is “sin.” Our sin keeps us away from God’s great love for us. God’s word says: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
  • God sent His son, Jesus, to show how much He loves you. Did you know that Jesus took the punishment for all of your sin? Jesus died on the cross so all the wrong things you and I have done can be forgiven. The Bible says: “Christ died for our sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:3)
  • Do you know that God is ready to forgive you right now? If you admit that you’ve done wrong things, and you believe that Jesus died for you and lives today, God will forgive all your sin. God’s word says:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.” (1 John 1:9)
“Everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 10:43)
  • Do you know that when God forgives you, you become His child? God wants you to be in His family. God’s word says: “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)
  • When you become a part of God’s family, God gives you an awesome gift—eternal life. This means Jesus will be with you now and forever.
  • Would you like to pray to become a part of God’s family?

3. Pray

Guide your child in talking to God:

  • Tell God that you know you have sinned and that you need to be forgiven.
  • Thank God for sending his son Jesus to die for you.
  • Ask God to forgive you and to help you turn away from doing wrong.
  • Thank God that Jesus is alive and will be with you forever.

4. Praise!

If your child accepts Christ, be sure to praise and celebrate this awesome, life-changing decision. Encourage them to share the good news with others. We in e/kids would love to rejoice with you! If your child has made this decision, please be sure to let us know.
