Purpose of the Position
The Engedi Local Assistant will support the implementation of local missions at Engedi by supporting, leading and encouraging the church in its effort to be a community of people who live missionally in the local context.

- Deeply committed follower of Jesus

- Effective administrative skills – including the ability to set goals, facilitate advance planning and effectively manage ministry and personal schedules
- Is detail-oriented and accurate with data entry
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Gift of leadership and desire to develop leaders
- Ability to recruit, develop and communicate with volunteers
- Team player – humble, willing to defer to others, supportive of other Engedi ministries
- Is a partner of Engedi or is willing to become one upon joining staff
- Tithes
- Is in a CABLE (small) group or is willing to become a part of one upon joining staff
- Passionate about caring for the poor and vulnerable
- Aligns with Engedi’s vision to connect with people of varying ethnic and economic backgrounds
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and communicate serving opportunities with local partners and volunteers
- Provide support to local missional life events
- Be a part of planning and coordinating both recurring and one time local serving opportunities (i.e. Gleaners, City Serve, Tread, Stuff the Truck, Hand2Hand, etc…)
- Generate reports and manage database of local volunteers
- Work with Local Pastor to recruit and train volunteer leaders
- Assist with scheduling and execution of church-wide communications
- Work closely with the Engedi Local Pastor and the Financial Assistance team to coordinate requests for financial assistance.
- Network with partner organizations and curate existing community resources that support the care needs of Engedi church and the local community.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly staff meetings (1st Monday of the month)
- Participate in most staff prayer meetings (every Monday)
- Participate in most Worship Nights
- Attend staff retreats (twice annually, one of which is overnight)
Other Details
- Part-time, 20 hours/week position including vacation and personal days, cell phone reimbursement, subsidized onsite daycare at Holland Campus, and matching 403b contributions
- Reports to the Local Pastor
