Volunteer Commitment

Engedi Church Volunteer Commitment

We seek to honor and obey God by the way we live.

Following Jesus is far more than a single, momentary decision. It is a daily act of surrender to God’s will, His Word, and His ways. Scripture encourages us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As we follow Him, our relationship with Christ brings continual transformation.

As members of Engedi’s Volunteer Team, we strive to honor God and reflect Jesus—not just when we’re serving at church, but in our homes, our relationships, our workplaces, and our community.

Though we are not perfect, we are committed to growing in our faith, character, and relationship with Christ. While we may face temptation and sin, we choose not to linger in it or allow it to shape our identity or lifestyle.

As a volunteer at Engedi Church, I commit to:

  • Pursue a Christ-like life, recognizing that following Jesus impacts every area of who I am. (Col 3.17; Rom 12.1-2; Eph 5.1-2)
  • Learn and serve in the context of Christ-centered community, walking alongside others as we grow in faith together. (Acts 2:42, Eph 4:15–16, Rom 12:4–5)
  • Remain humble and open, inviting accountability, support, and grace when I struggle or need help. (Jam 5:16, Gal 6:1–2, 1 Pet 5:5–6)
  • Strive to honor God in areas of personal morality and integrity, including sexual purity, sobriety, and wise stewardship of my mind and body. (Gal 5:22–23, 1 Cor 6:18–20, 1 The 4:3–5)
  • Support the mission, values, and beliefs of Engedi Church, having read and aligned myself with its core statements of faith and practices.

I understand that how I live and serve reflects the heart of Jesus to others. I want to be part of a community that loves well, grows deeper, and serves faithfully.

By affirming this commitment you are committing to model a lifestyle that does not detract from but rather enhances your Christian witness. You are also recognizing the important part you play in representing Engedi to our church, to our city and to our world. If, as a leader, you begin to struggle in any area, including those mentioned above, we are committed to walking with you in that journey.
