Purpose of the Position
To provide direction and oversight of Engedi’s discipleship, and spiritual formation efforts; including the oversight of the Engedi Leadership School.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Deeply committed follower of Jesus
- Affirms Engedi’s core beliefs, mission, and life practices by word and example
- Effective administrative skills – including the ability to set goals, facilitate advance planning and effectively manage ministry and personal schedules
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong gift of leadership and proven experience developing leaders and strategy
- Ability to recruit, develop and communicate with volunteers
- Aligns with Engedi’s vision to connect with people of varying ethnic and economic backgrounds
- Team player – humble, willing to defer to others, can lead under direction
- Is a partner of Engedi or is willing to become one upon joining staff
- Tithes
- Is in a CABLE (small) group or is willing to become a part of one upon joining staff
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop church-wide strategies for discipleship that help adults at Engedi take a next step on their spiritual journey including:
- Work with the Groups Coordinator to build a thriving groups ministry at the Holland Campus
- Establish reproducible best practices for Engedi campuses and ministries for the Community Life department
- Oversee the development and execution of various events related to spiritual formation
- Prayer Ministry leadership – including 21 Days initiative, volunteer leader oversight, etc…
- Develop the adult classes schedule and promotion; create and/or curate class content; recruit and train volunteer leaders and instructors
- Oversee and develop the Community Life staff including the Groups Coordinator, Care Coordinator, and Community Life Assistant
- Organize and oversee the internship program experience in partnership with various ministry departments including promotion and marketing
- Work with the Care Coordinator to ensure best practices for Engedi weddings and funerals, responses to care needs, on-call pastor processes and schedules, and development of care teams
- Carry out all the above mentioned duties and responsibilities, as well as those not stated above, that would be necessary to ensure the success of the Engedi staff team and the flourishing of Engedi Church
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly staff meetings (2nd Monday of the month)
- Participate in most staff prayer meetings (every Monday)
- Participate in most Worship Nights
- Attend staff and director retreats (three annually, two of which are overnight)
- Service Hosting monthly, On Call Pastor Schedule 3+ weeks/year
Essential Details
- Full-time, 45 hours/week position including vacation and personal days, cell phone reimbursement, subsidized onsite daycare at Holland Campus, and matching 403b contributions
