Rob appreciates the way passion and practice come together at Engedi, “both in what is taught to the head and what is expected from the heart,” he says. He loves that people are encouraged not just to grow in knowledge, but to live out their faith in everyday life.
Worship is another deep passion for Rob. “I love the musical expression of my passion for God and gratefulness for His incredible gift of love to mankind.” In his free time, he enjoys singing as well as writing and releasing worship music to build others in their faith.
Rob and his wife, Becky, have five children — Robbie, David, Lyndi, Matthew, and Ellie — along with two grandchildren and their puppy, Ahsoka, named after a Jedi character from Star Wars. Rob works as an Engineering Director at Gentex and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Grand Valley State University.
Pastor Brian serves as Engedi’s lead pastor and teacher. Before launching Engedi with his wife, Christina, he spent five years serving as the Young Adults Pastor at Central Wesleyan Church. Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 1997 and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2000.
Brian and Christina love spending time with their growing family, including their son Jared and daughter-in-law Sheldon, their daughter Kaylyn and son-in-law Anderson, and their youngest son, Evan.
Dana was drawn to Engedi through its mission, worship, and teaching, but what she loves most is the way it continually challenges people to grow deeper in their faith and step beyond their comfort zones. She values the way Engedi encourages people to live differently and pursue a deeper relationship with God.
Dana and her husband, Aric, have three children. She earned a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Grand Valley State University and currently works in development at Zeeland Christian School. Outside of work and ministry, Dana enjoys snowmobiling, running, boating, and spending time with her family.
Ross loves Engedi because it continually challenges him to follow Jesus in every area of life. He values the church’s holistic approach to faith and the way it encourages people to actively live out the freedom they’ve found in Christ. Ross especially appreciates Engedi’s commitment to sharing the good news of Jesus and believes that living on mission is an essential part of following Him.
Ross and his wife, Sandi, have three daughters: Isla, Emmelyn, and Luella. Outside of work and ministry, he enjoys sailing, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with friends and family. Ross also serves as President of Impact Fab, Inc.
Fred has called Engedi home since 2017 and deeply values the church’s outward-focused culture. He appreciates the way worship draws believers closer to God while also creating a welcoming environment for those exploring faith, and he loves that the teaching consistently invites people to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Fred and his wife, Karen, are also passionate about Engedi’s commitment to global missions and are grateful to serve on the Member Care team.
Fred earned degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Calvin College, University of Michigan, and Stanford University. After many years working as an engineer, he now writes affordable housing grants for Capital for Compassion.
Fred and Karen have six adult children and a growing number of grandchildren, giving them plenty of opportunities to travel around the country to spend time with family.
Jon was first drawn to Engedi through a desire to build community with others who are passionate about being the hands and feet of Jesus. He cares deeply about seeing the love of Christ lived out both in the local community and around the world.
Jon and his wife, Kim, have three children, Mackenzie, Addie, and Luke. He earned both his bachelor’s degree and dental degree from University of Michigan. After graduation, Jon and Kim spent a year serving on the mission field in Honduras, providing education and dental care to underserved communities.
Since returning to West Michigan in 2014, Jon has practiced dentistry in Zeeland. Outside of work and ministry, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, reading, and playing sports of all kinds.
Tyler values Engedi’s missional focus — not only in reaching unreached people groups around the world, but also in developing leaders who can make a lasting impact in their local communities. He appreciates Engedi’s commitment to equipping passionate disciples to live out their faith beyond the walls of the church and influence others for Christ.
Tyler and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Shane and Quinn. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Notre Dame.
Outside of work and ministry, Tyler enjoys cycling, reading, kiteboarding, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Erica was drawn to Engedi by the evident passion for Jesus and His people. She values the way the church encourages people to pursue authentic faith, meaningful community, and lives centered on Christ.
Erica and her husband, Robb, have been married for 15 years and homeschool their two children. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Cornerstone University, and together she and Robb own and operate a small business in Holland.
In her free time, Erica enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, camping, reading, traveling, and anything involving the water.
Nate was drawn to Engedi because of its passion for missions — locally, regionally, and around the world. He values the way Engedi genuinely celebrates people from different backgrounds, creating a welcoming community and meaningful relationships that encourage deeper growth in Christ.
Nate earned his bachelor’s degree from Messiah College before receiving his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He later served in the United States Army, where he completed advanced training in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery as well as Facial Plastic Surgery.
Nate and his wife, Lauren, have three boys, Sammy, Penn, and Oliver. In his free time, Nate enjoys spending time with his family, especially grilling, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and camping.
